Getting Fit| Resistance Bands Are Underrated

Shoutout to my cousin Rachana (@rachynana) for helping me out with the exercise videos. Do not forget to chuck her Instagram page a follow for more on skincare, food, gym and so much more.

We both agree that resistance bands are one of many things that are underrated in the gym or any workout room. Before I continue on to today’s post, I have linked the previous posts in this series if you would like to have a read of those ones as well. I have changed the name of the series but the post is the same 🙂 .

Disclaimer: Under no circumstances am I a professional so if you do start to workout or a food plan make sure to consult with a professional before starting. You are perfect the way you are and in writing this series I am not trying to say that everyone needs to work out or be on a food plan. The final say really comes down to your health, needs, wants and most importantly you. If you don’t what to workout or go on a food plan then don’t; as long as your doctor or nutritionist clears you.

From warm-up to workouts to cool down. Resistance bands can easily be a part of your workout. “Warm-up is super important for preventing injury and just getting the body and mind ready for weights/movement” (@rachynana). For the days that I am feeling a bit tight and too heavy to be running on the treadmill or working away at the cross-trainer, I simply use resistance bands to warm up my muscles for my workout.

Resistance bands are perfect for getting a good workout while you are short on time as well. They can be used to change up ‘traditional’ and well-known movements without you having to set up a machine or find equipment. You can even add resistance bands into your weight lighting workouts to spice things up without adding extra weight.

“Cooldown is great since you need to bring your heart rate down to a steady-state, it helps so you don’t feel sick.dizzy after workout out” (@rachynana). Resistance bands can help out there as well. I personally can’t stretch properly without the use of resistance bands. I sit down for majority of the day so resistance bands help me stretch out my legs, hips, and arms properly.

Check out @rachynana, she has beautifully included resistance bands:
