So I turned 20 the other day. For me, this was a massive deal and it meant so much to me that I was able to celebrate the start of my 20s. During the teenage years, everyone tries to figure out who they are and what they want in life. I wish I did so many things differently in my teens. Not only would life have been easier but it definitely would have been happier.
Today I have 3 Things I Wish I Knew as a Teenager, in no particular order:
1 – Failure is a detour not the end of the road
Everyone fails. Everyone has faced some failure in their lives and had to either start again or simply take a few extra steps. Nothing is wrong with failure, it just shows that you had to put extra effort and shows that you had the will, motivation, and determination to continue even though you had a setback.
2 – Save up asap
The money habits you get when you first start earning or getting pocket money is what sets you for life. Literally. I only started saving last year and I managed to hit my goal very fast because well I knew where I went wrong. But if I had started when I first got money (aka 15) I would have been able to get a lot of the things I have planned for the future
3 – Start a hobby and stick to it
I have had many hobbies: sport, dancing, coloring-in, cooking and more. I wanted to become a chef when I was younger. I didn’t stick to it while I was trying to get my grades and all at school (not your typical Indian student). I have lost interest in so many things that I actually miss. Luckily I picked up blogging but I wish I stuck to something and anything. It is kind of a constant break for the everyday grind.
These 3 things would have really changed my teens but I am just glad that the teen life is over and I am in my roaring 20s. Let’s see what God has planned for me
Happy 2020 and make this decade better than the last one 😉
