Hello my lovelies!!!! I have always been a night owl. However, recently I have shifted to being a early bird and I thought to share how I did.
Now I am still trying to wake up even earlier to fit in gym before work but instead of sleeping at 5am I am waking up at 5am. So let’s get onto the post and hopefully these tips help you out as well.
1 – Get Sleep Hygiene Sytem
What I mean by this is that your night time routine should set you up to wake up early and not have to rush in the morning. This would be different for everyone. For me it was making sure:
- I had dinner earlier
- No caffeine after 2pm latest but ideally 12pm
- I have a warm green tea or lemon and ginger tea
- I reduce the beat of my music to something more soothing
- I stop watching my TV shows and/or movies by 8pm
- Make sure my clothes are set for the next day
- Dim my lights an 1 hour before I plan to sleep
- I have water near my bed for the morning
- I have my lunch packed and breakfast prepared as much as possible
I basically set myself up for sleep and as much as possible for the morning. I am still a zombie in the morning but I am sure that will resolve by itself over time.
2 – Use water to wake up
Literally the first thing I do is drink some water, and then hop into the shower. After this I am basically as awake I am going to get without coffee. I also make sure to wash my face with cold water to wake up even more.
I try to avoid anything too sweet in the morning as it generally makes me feel sluggish before work.
3 – Move around a little
Whether this is going to the gym before work or simply doing exercises at home. Anything that works for you to get the blood flowing everywhere and I don’t know it works for me hehe
